Health & Safety Advisor


To support and promote the enhancement of the company's safety and environmental culture, policies, procedures, systems, and practices. Ensure the company is compliant with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, drive a proactive behavioural-led safety culture, and provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. The role will be based at the London HQ but will require regular visits to sites around the UK. You will be working in a team of other H&S Advisors and with our Operations team. Responsibilities: * Ensure compliance in production, delivery, and operational practices with relevant Health, Safety, Environmental, and Wellbeing (HSEW) standards, policies, procedures, processes, systems, and Regulations. * Identify, report, manage, and mitigate HSEW risks in conjunction with members of the leadership team. * Deliver effective HSEW training. * Monitor and report HSEW performance effectively and in a timely manner. * Ensure the welfare of all staff and visitors. * Comply with all ISO requirements, such as following company policies and procedures, attending compulsory training sessions, and actively working towards objectives. Roles and Responsibilities: * Conduct regular H&S audits with site and office teams. * Undertake effective and timely accident and incident investigation and reporting. * Ensure compliance with project delivery gateway control processes. * Keep records of inductions. * Carry out risk assessments and develop and advise on Safe Systems of Work. * Assist the operations team in developing RAMs, advising on best practice. * Develop policies and procedures around health and safety, and ensure their implementation. * Advise managers and leaders on health and safety-related matters. * Maintain records about health and safety. * Prepare and present statistics, reports, and updates to colleagues. * Provide or organise training and communications on keeping safe at work. * Ensure that equipment is installed, maintained, and used correctly and safely. * Identify potential hazards and ensure managers and leaders are aware of them and mitigating them. * Engage and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to share best practices, advise managers on appropriateness and effectiveness of their HSEW policies, procedures, and ways of working. * Liaise with external health and safety representatives, authorities, and trade unions. * Keep up to date with health and safety legislation. * Help to drive continuous improvement in HSEW policies, processes, procedures, and ways of working. * Embed a ‘Stop Work Authority’ and ‘Plan, Do, Check, Act’ approach to working. Key Skills and Qualifications: * NEBOSH qualification essential. * CSCS Black/White card essential. * SMSTS qualification preferred. * Proficiency in use of Autodesk technologies and MS Office suite. * A minimum of a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) and NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
